BMG Power Systems delivers Volvo Penta TAD1385VE industrial diesel engine to rail operator
We are pleased to announce that we have delivered and commissioned a Volvo Penta TAD1385VE Stage V industrial diesel engine for a TGM40 shunting diesel locomotive. The 6-cylinder Volvo Penta TAD1385VE is a powerful and reliable industrial diesel engine designed for off-road applications. The engine has a displacement of 12.78 litres and is part of Volvo Penta’s D13 series, known for its durability and efficiency.
With an impressive power output of 405 kW (551 hp) at 1710 rpm, the TAD1385VE is suitable for demanding industrial tasks, and its design ensures high power and torque even at low engine speeds, increasing its versatility and reliability in various off-highway applications, including construction equipment, agricultural machinery and other heavy-duty industrial applications. Its robust construction and advanced technology make it a reliable choice for operators seeking performance and efficiency.
The TAD1385VE meets the stringent EU Stage V emission standards thanks to optimised Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology. This ensures efficient combustion and reduced environmental impact. Volvo Penta has designed this engine with ease of maintenance in mind. Its straightforward design and the availability of a wide range of optional equipment make it easy to service and adapt to different industrial needs.
BMG Power Systems’ scope of supply included the Volvo Penta TAD1385VE engine together with a cooling package, complete exhaust aftertreatment system and on-site installation support. We would like to thank our customer for their confidence in us and in Volvo Penta engines.
